Even With BiaFra Agitation, Check Out What Gov Shettima Said!!

Based on the recent interview conducted recently by vanguard, the governor disclosed that the number of votes President Buhari got from the Igbos in 2011 compared to what he got in 2015. He also emphasized that the Igbos contributed to President Buhari's political success.

He said "One thing people fail to appreciate is that the igbos played a silent but extremely strategic role in the emergence of President Buhari". You may not believe it, but the statistics are there. In 2011, the Ibo nation gave Jonathan about 8 million votes, so when people start accusing Ogbonnanya Onu or Chris Ngige of not doing their own part of the job, people are not being fair to them.

“I think the Ibo nation deserves special commendation and respect for the efforts they made. What was the difference between Buhari and Jonathan? It was about 2.5 million votes.” On the possibility of the Peoples Democratic Party mounting a comeback, Shettima aid he doubted majority of Nigerians will want the party back. “The PDP is an idea whose time has elapsed.

The mind disturbing revelations about how funds meant to acquire weapons to prevent Boko Haram insurgents from their scales of murder, were siphoned is enough to erase the PDP from the minds of the party’s founding fathers, those who drafted it’s constitution and those who designed the party’s if they have conscience.

“In 2015 Jonathan got 300,000 votes in Ebonyi, go and juxtapose the quantum of votes he got in 2011 in the Ibo heartland with what he got in 2015! If the Ibos had produced the quantum of votes they gave him in 2011 in 2015, the story would have been different.”

I don’t see majority of good Nigerians ever accepting the PDP again except perhaps, a different political affiliation but certainly not PDP as it is known.” Buhari became the first candidate outside the PDP to emerge as Nigeria’s president following return to democratic rule when he defeated incumbent president, Jonathan in 2015.

 God bless Nigeria!!!

I am not defrauding Nigerians - Ailing Olumide Bakare

Olumide Bakare has been sick on the sick bed since January 13. Since then he has been bedridden and receiving treatment at the University College Hospital, Ibadan. The Yoruba movie star said that the plan to raise money for his treatment was genuine and not to defraud any Nigeria.

He was reported to be battling with heart and lung related problems. While N7million is being raised for his treatment. However an online publication has reported that he might not immediately need that much. Reacting to this on Monday in a video interview posted on an online forum, Ibadan Film Circle, Bakare lamented that it was unfair for anyone to doubt his integrity in the situation he was.

He said, “I want Nigerians to know that I’m still on admission in UCH”.  I want people to know what I’m going through. I want them to know that I have heart and lungs problems. There is clot in my heart and in my lungs. “But what UCH is trying to do is not to rush into surgery.  That’s why we have been managing the situation with drugs and injection. I am under serious supervision now.”

“I have been battling with this ‘blood clot problem’ since 2013 and I have never asked anybody for a dime.  So if anyone is saying that I’m trying to dupe Nigerians, at what Age?”
“I have been on admission since Jan 13. I was in the intensive care unit for 18days I was on oxygen for close to 20 days and still on admission, nothing is free in the UCH. Everything in the Hospital is about money. Even the gloves that the nurses use, when they want to do something on you, you will have to buy them yourself.”

“I didn’t even start soliciting this money myself. It was started by a television station. So don’t even understand those noises that I was trying to defraud Nigerians, and that I’m telling lies about my health. Do I want to be in the Hospital anyway?”
